The Western Region Health Centre was originally established in 1964. A primary focus and core activity of the Centre is the provision of medical care to people who live and work in Footscray and the surrounding area.
The Doctors at the Centre work with other health professionals and are committed to the principles of community health. The Doctors of this practice are involved in the training of General Practitioners and attend ongoing medical education.
General Practitioners
The General Practitioners aim to provide the best possible care for:• Family medical problems

• Industrial/occupational injuries and illnesses

• Drug and alcohol issues

Phone Calls
Doctors in the practice may be contacted during normal surgery hours. If the doctor is with a patient a message will be taken and a doctor will call you back when available. In an emergency, your call will always be put through to the clinic nurse or a doctor.
General Practitioners can provide home visits in certain circumstances.
After Hours
For after hours medical service phone 8398 4100 and you will be given the number of the home visiting service.Pathology

For your Information
There are a wide range of Western Region Health Centre services that complement the medical practice as well as a number of other agencies co-located at our sites. This ensures a comprehensive model of health care. Please ask reception staff for information about these services.
Charges
All medical services at the Centre will be BULK BILLED upon presentation of your Medicare Card. Workcover and TAC are billed directly to those organisations.
How do I make an appointment?
Appointment System
Please ring reception, either at Footscray or Braybrook, depending on need, for an appointment. Every effort will be made to accommodate your preferred time. Emergencies will always be given priority and our reception staff will attempt to contact you if there is any unforseen delay or if your doctor has been called away. If the interpreter service is required, please inform us at the time of the booking.
Longer consultation times are available, so please ask our receptionist if you require some extra time.

The Centre is conveniently located in Paisley Street, close to Footscray and Middle Footscray stations, tram and bus routes. Parking is also available nearby.

BUS ROUTES: From Footscray take Bus 220 along
Ashley St until Churchill Ave, then catch Bus 408 from Highpoint which runs up Churchill Ave. From Sunshine take Bus 215 or 220 along Ballarat Rd to Vine St and walk up to Churchill Ave (approx 600m).
