Since 1964 Western Region Health Centre has provided medical services – General Practitioners and Nurses – to the people and communities of the western region of Melbourne.
General Practitioners
The General Practitioners aim to provide the best possible care for:
• Family medical problems
• Preventative health problems
• Industrial/occupational injuries and illnesses
• Palliative care
• Shared pregnancy care
• Minor surgery
• Immunisation
• Drug and alcohol issues
• Refugee Health
Our doctors attend ongoing medical education and are involved in training of General Practitioners.
Talking to the Doctor
Doctors may be contacted during the hours stated. If the doctor is with a patient a message will be taken and the doctor will call you back when she/he is available. In an emergency you will be transferred to the Clinic nurse or doctor.
General Practitioners can provide home visits in certain circumstances.
Accessing Our Medical Clinics
WRHC provides medical services at two locations: Barkly Street, West Footscray (previously located at 72 Paisley Street, Footscray) and Churchill Avenue, Braybrook. A wide range of allied health services are available and complement the medical practice.
