Services

Western Region Health Centre aims to provide a co-ordinated, comprehensive and holistic health care model for culturally and linguistically diverse communities in the City of Maribyrnong and beyond.
Western Region Health Centre provides a range of services to newly arrived refugees. The Refugee Health access team includes Refugee Health Nurses, Access Workers, African Community Development Worker and a Dinka/Arabic Interpreter.

This team is available to assist with:

• Access and orientation to the Centre
• Access and orientation to external
• Health Service Providers
• Refugee Health Assessments
• Advocacy
• Arranging medical appointments
• Home visits
• Health promotion and education

• Exercise to Music for Vietnamese People
• African Men’s Cooking Classes
• African Men’s and Women’s Health Education

Vitamin D Clinic

A specialist medical clinic is available for refugee families requiring Vitamin D treatment.

 

 

Interpreting Services

On-site interpreters are available at WRHC in Vietnamese, Dinka and Arabic. Interpreters in all other languages can be arranged free of charge by appointment.
Telephone interpreters are available immediately.

BUS ROUTES: From Footscray take Bus 220 along Ashley St until Churchill Ave, then catch Bus 408 from Highpoint which runs up Churchill Ave. From Sunshine take Bus 215 or 220 along Ballarat Rd to Vine St and walk up to Churchill Ave (approx 600m).
