A Psychiatric Disability Rehabilitation and Support Service that provides community mental health outreach services to people living with an enduring mental illness.

What Is WROS?

WROS is a Psychiatric Disability Rehabilitation and Support Service (PDRSS) that provides time limited community mental health outreach services to people living with an enduring mental illness.

WROS also provides an ‘Access’ service which aims to address short term needs, particularly the needs of previously exited clients/consumers.
The service promotes consumer participation through a Client Liaison Officer and a Client Participation Steering Committee. These initiatives support and facilitate client involvement on a variety of levels within the service.

Services are tailored to meet the needs of the individual and encourage independence and self-determination. Through the use of the individual service plan (ISP), individuals set their own rehabilitation goals.

These services may include:

• Advocacy and liaison
• Collaborative approach with clients and with clinical mental health services
• Problem solving skills/techniques
• Independent living skill development
• Social and emotional support
• Provision of information and referral to relevant services
• Access to health and other services
in the community
• Time-limited educational, recreational and social groups
