The Western Region Health Centre Ltd. is committed to improving the health and well being of the people who live and work in the Western Region by providing an accessible range of comprehensive, high quality and integrated health and welfare services.
Services
The Western Region Health Centre Ltd. is an organisation providing a range of health services to the general community, predominantly in the City of Maribyrnong with some programs extending to neighbouring municipalities as well as statewide. Health services include:
• general practice
• community health
• allied health services
• refugee health
• dentistry
• services for injecting drug-users
• general, family violence, victims of violent crime counselling and support
• mental health, homelessness and outreach services
• services for people with complex needs
The Centre employs over two hundred and fifty staff, and operates from multiple sites located across Footscray and Braybrook.
Award Winning Organisation
The Centre is extremely proud to have been awarded the Premier’s Award for ‘Outstanding Metropolitan Ambulatory Healthcare Provider of the Year’, as part of the Victorian Public Healthcare Awards 2005.
Management
Western Region Health Centre Ltd. is a registered company, managed by a Board of Directors. The company is registered under the Companies Act and is limited in liability with membership restricted to 100.
The Board of Directors is made up of ten members including: consumer representatives, community representatives, local government representative, hospital representative, and a University representative.
The Chief Executive Officer is responsible for administration of all components of service delivery and service development of the Centre.
