In the latter part of 2010, as part of Western Region Health Centre’s (WRHC) Quality of Care reporting requirement to the Department of Health, community artist - photographer - Angela Bailey spent much time at WRHC sites and programs engaging with our clients to understand and document (audio and photographic) their experience of the services we provide, and specifically glean insights to the ‘quality of care’ they expect and receive.
This collaboration between Angela Bailey and WRHC’s clients shows the people, programs and culture of the Western Region Health Centre.
The exhibition Seen and Heard presents the thoughts and observations from Angela Bailey’s time spent with clients over a period of several months, it gives an insight to the experiences of people who receive support from the Centre.
These experiences range from a commitment to the team ideal by the Western Storm cricketers, to the dedicated and focused crafting of an exhibition by the African Women’s Art Group at the Barkly Arts Centre.
At several sites of WRHC this exhibition shares the experiences, personal thoughts and observations of care and support and peoples’ involvement with the WRHC. The exhibition has been documented in the Seen and Heard Catalogue.
This dynamic and creative project has made a vital contribution to the Centre’s journey of quality improvement, and it is a significant component of the Western Region Health Centre 2010 Quality of Care Report (attach 2010 Quality of Care Report).
